WuSitai town belongs to Alxa Economic Development Zone of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, located in the east of the banner, adjacent to Wuda District of Wuhai City and Shizuishan city of Ningxia. It has jurisdiction over two communities and two Gacha. The town government is based in utu. Baotou Lanzhou railway, San Ji railway, National Highway 110 and Urumqi Daba highway pass through.

In October 2019, WuSitai town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

Historical evolution

"Wusutu" and "WuSitai" in Mongolian mean "where there is water". Originally under the jurisdiction of Bayan Muren Sumu, three brigades were set up in 1961 to establish Wusutu commune, which was under the management of the former Wuda city. It was returned to Alxa Left Banner in 1965 and changed to Sumu in 1983. In 1996, covering an area of 1989 square kilometers, the Mongols accounted for 40% of the total area, and governed three gachas, namely khaxiatu, Bayin Oboo and Ulan maodao. on July 28, 1999, Wusutu Sumu was abolished and Wusutu town was established. At the end of 1999, it covers an area of 1809 square kilometers, governs three Gacha, and the town government is stationed in tallin Oboo. In 2002, it had jurisdiction over the first neighborhood committee, wulanmaodao and Bayin Oboo. In 2005, Wusutu town governed one community and two Gacha in Ulan maodao and Bayin Oboo. In view of the fact that the name of WuSitai has been used as the name of the development zone for a long time, and it has a high reputation both inside and outside the zone, in April 2006, after the approval of the Civil Affairs Bureau of the league, the Chinese character of the name of Wusutu town in azuo banner was adjusted to WuSitai town. in 2017, it covers an area of 1809 square kilometers and has a population of 25390.
