Shuangxi Township

Shuangxi Township, subordinate to Shangyou County, Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province, is located in the north of Shangyou County, adjacent to Sixia town and Ziyang Township in the East, Shuiyan Township in the south, wuzhifeng Township and Suichuan County in the west, and Suichuan County in the north, with a total area of 124 square kilometers. It governs 8 administrative villages and 129 villager groups. In 2018, the registered residence population in 13 thousand and 900 rural areas was two.

The economy of Shuangxi township is dominated by agriculture, and rice planting is the leading industry of agriculture. Single cropping rice is planted in Northwest Mountainous Areas, and double cropping rice is planted in eastern and central areas. Camellia oleifera planting is one of the main income sources of farmers in China. In 2018, there were 10 industrial enterprises in Shuangxi Township and 26 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

Shuangxi Township, now Luyang, Gaodong village and other places were originally reclaimed land in Chongyi County, which began to belong to Shangyou County in 1934. At the end of 1930s, the national government set up Shuangxi Township, named after Shuangxi village.

At the beginning of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to the Fourth District, which was divided into three townships: Shuangxi, Luyang and Shuitou. It was merged into Shuangxi commune in 1958 and changed into Shuangxi Township in the 1980s.

By the end of 2019, Shuangxi village has eight administrative villages: Zuoxi village, xiaoshimen village, Dashimen village, Dabu village, Shuitou village, Youxi village, Luyang village and Gaodong village. The township government is located in Zuoxi village.

Shuangxi township is located in the north of Shangyou County, adjacent to Sixia and Ziyang townships in the East, Shuiyan and Jinpen townships in the south, wuzhifeng Township and Suichuan County in the west, and Suichuan County in the north. The total area is 124 square kilometers.

topographic features

Shuangxi township has overlapping mountains. In more than 20 kilometers of the border with Suichuan County, there are 13 peaks with an altitude of 1000-1300 meters. Among them, the peak is built at an altitude of 1333.4 meters, which is the highest point in the whole territory. The terrain inclines from northwest to Southeast, and shuikeng village at the southeast outlet is the lowest point, with an altitude of 240 meters.

The annual average temperature of Shuangxi township is 17.1 ℃, which is 0.9 ℃ lower than that of the whole county. The frost free period is about 260 days, which is about 20 days less than that of Shangyou County. The average annual rainfall is 1700 mm. It is a subtropical monsoon mountain climate with abundant rainfall, high humidity, moderate temperature, cloudy and rainy in spring, no extreme heat in summer, earlier "cold dew wind" in autumn and short winter.

There are three large streams in Shuangxi township. The one that flows from north to south is called Youxi, the one that flows from northwest to southeast is called Zuoxi, and the one that flows together is called sixiahe. The water quality of Zuoxi and Youxi is good. They are mainly formed by the intersection of mountain spring water and yanliuxijing river. They meet in the southeast of market town and flow into sixiahe river. The average annual discharge is 2.8 m3 / s. In addition, there are many reservoirs and streams in the territory.

Although there are two large streams in Shuangxi Township flowing through the territory, due to the mountainous terrain, the lack of better conditions for fishery development and the relative lack of fishery resources, there is only a small amount of aquaculture and fishing in the territory.

There are also many large reservoirs in Shuangxi township. Qingshankou reservoir in Youxi village has a capacity of 1.2 million cubic meters and a drainage and irrigation area of 200 mu; Gaodong reservoir in Gaodong village has a capacity of 200000 cubic meters; xiaoshimen reservoir in xiaoshimen village has a capacity of 100000 cubic meters and a drainage and irrigation area of 300 mu.

National Highway 220 passes through Shuangxi Township, and the main external traffic is Shangtai highway. Due to the complex terrain, the road surface is narrow and the road condition is poor. The distance from Shangtai line market town to the county seat is about 60 km. There are few buses from the market town to the county seat, basically about 4 times a day on average.
