Kunhe town

Kunhe Town, belonging to Kundulun District, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the west of Kundulun district. It is connected with the urban area of Kundulun District in the East, Baotou Lanzhou Railway in the south, Baotou Steel Plant in the West and buerhantu town in the north, 1.6km away from the district government. The area is 15.3 square kilometers. In 2018, 10879 people registered residence.

In September 1998, Heping Village, Nanpai village and Shengli village of halinger Township in the suburb of Baotou City and caojiayingzi village of Xincheng and Ruan were assigned to Kundulun district. In January 1999, Kunhe town was established. In June 2020, Kunhe town governs 5 communities and 3 administrative villages.

In 2018, Kunhe town had 33 industrial enterprises and 35 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

In September 1998, Heping Village, Nanpai village and Shengli village of halinger Township in the suburb of Baotou City and caojiayingzi village of Xincheng and Ruan were assigned to Kundulun district.

In January 1999, Kunhe town was established.

administrative division

In February 2001, Kunhe town was assigned to the rare earth high tech Zone, and gaoyoufang village was assigned to Kunhe town from Jiuyuan District.

In July 2003, Kunhe town was again zoned back to Kunqu District, and caojiayingzi village and gaoyoufang village under its jurisdiction were zoned as rare earth high tech Zone. After that, Fengying, beishaliang, xiheleng and zhaomiao residents committees were successively established.

By the end of 2011, Kunhe town had four residents' committees, namely Fengying, beishaliang, xiheling and zhaomiao, three villagers' committees, namely pingcun, Nanpai and Shengli, and 18 villagers' groups.

In June 2020, Kunhe town governs five communities and three administrative villages: zhaomiao community, beishaliang community, xiheling community, Wanhe Sunshine Community, Zhongye community, Shengli village, Nanpai village and Heping Village. The town people's government is located 100 meters east of the intersection of Linyin road and Xinguang West Road.

The origin of place names

Kunhe town is named after the Kundulun River, the main river under its jurisdiction.

Honorary title

On July 29, 2020, Kunhe town was named as the National Health township (county) in 2017-2019 cycle by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
