Historical evolution
Long bridge gets its name. Changqiao, formerly known as Qinghe bridge, was built in the Longxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1163-1164). It has been repaired several times in the past 800 years. In the Qing Dynasty, the south of the bridge belonged to Huating County, and the north of the bridge belonged to Shanghai county. In 1976, due to the excavation of the Dianpu River, Changqiao port was filled and the bridge was demolished. Changqiao street, located in the southwest of Xuhui District, Shanghai, was founded in June 1985. It starts from Huangpu River in the East, Dianpu River in the south, laohumin road in the west, Jialing Road, Luocheng Road, Longwu Road and zhangjiatanggang in the north. The total area of the district is 5.87 square kilometers, accounting for 10.71% of the total area (54.8 square kilometers), with a population of 118872 (in 2010). There are 31 neighborhood committees. As a residential community, Changqiao has a lot of advantages in resources, such as Shanghai Botanical Garden, Shanghai Sports Vocational and technical college, Shanghai middle school and so on.
