Donglin Township

Donglin township is located in the southwest of Xuanhan County, only 10 kilometers away from the county. It is only 20 minutes by car from Xuanhan county. In the first year of Emperor Wu of Song Dynasty in the Southern Dynasty, Shi'an county was ruled. In the second year of Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty, shigu county was renamed. In 1915, it was built as Donglin farm. In 1949, Donglin township was set up. In 1958, it was changed into a commune. In 1984, it was restored. It covers an area of 43.4 square kilometers and has a population of 12000.

On June 12, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Donglin township.

Site of Shigu County

Zengshan village, opposite to Donglin Town, is located at the foot of Chaqi mountain. The river meanders from the northeast, around the front of the village, and then to the northwest. The whole village is surrounded by water on three sides, just like an abrupt peninsula. In this place surrounded by water on three sides and easy to defend but difficult to attack, there is an ancient county site. It took more than 650 years from the establishment of the county in the early Song Dynasty to the withdrawal and merger in the seventh year of Xining in the Song Dynasty. It is one of the places with the longest history of establishing a county in Xuanhan county. According to historical records, in 420 ad, the Eastern Jin Dynasty perished, and the Southern Dynasties, song, Qi and Liang, which ruled the Yangtze River Valley, led Bashu in turn. In the early Song Dynasty (420-439), Baqu county was established, which was under the jurisdiction of Xuanhan, Shixing, Baqu, Dongguan, Shi'an, Xiapu and Jinxing, four of which were in Xuanhan county. In 536, Shian county was changed to shigu County, and Wanrong county was set up here to govern and lead the county. Later, shigu county also experienced Western Wei, Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, pre Shu, post Shu, song and other dynasties. The history of Shigu County, which is widely spread by local people, is roughly consistent with the historical records. It's a coincidence. In the early 1930s, the Red Army and the Kuomintang troops fought a fierce "zengshan sniping war" here, leaving many precious red relics, which added to the history here. The 650 year long history of the founding of the county, the 1400 year old civilization, the vicissitudes of life, the rise and fall of evolution, the number of prosperous prospects, the number of dignitaries behind, all along with the surging water of the Zhouhe River, leaving only some indistinct traces, which need to be further demonstrated, investigated, utilized and developed.
