Sanhe Town belongs to Erguna Right Banner, Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (now Erguna City, Inner Mongolia). It covers an area of 2.58 square kilometers, with 7772 people in the fifth census. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, it is located between the Hauer River, the Derbur River and the gen River, hence its name. It is the hometown of Sanhe horse and Sanhe cattle. On June 26, 2001, it merged with the former Suqin Hui nationality township and established Sanhe Hui nationality township.

The area is 80 km long from east to west and 260 km from north to south, covering a total area of 3140 square kilometers. It is composed of local and state-owned farming and ranching systems. The town is rich in natural resources. There are 44 kinds of wild medicinal plants with high utilization value, and more than 10 kinds of edible fungi such as white mushroom and HuaMian mushroom. Wild animals include hazelnut chicken, marmot, wild boar, squirrel, snow rabbit, etc. There are many kinds of wild plants such as Flammulina velutipes, Litsea cubeba and Prunus plums, which are widely distributed. Sanhe township is the origin of Sanhe horse and Sanhe cattle. Sanhe horse, Sanhe cattle, especially Sanhe horse, once made a great show in the whole country. There are more than 9800 basic cows in the three standardized dairy communities in the township.
