Gonghe Township
Ebian Yi Autonomous County governs the township. Gonghe township was established separately from Maoping Township in 1951, Maoping commune was established in 1958, Gonghe commune was established in 1961 and Gonghe township was established in 1984.
The township covers an area of 16.92 square kilometers, with a total population of 3738 (2017), and a per capita net income of 8240 yuan. On May 18, 2020, Sichuan Provincial People's government decided to abolish Gonghe township.
General situation
Gonghe township is located in the southeast of Ebian County, 12 kilometers away from the county seat, bordering Dawei town and Longmen township of Emeishan City. It has jurisdiction over 5 administrative villages and 27 villager groups. With an average altitude of 800 meters, the climate is mild and humid. The township covers an area of 16.92 square kilometers. the economic situation of the township is basically the same as that of the county. In 2015, the total grain output was 1446 tons, and the per capita net income was 8240 yuan. the township is short of resources, with no major mineral, forest and water resources. The economy is dominated by agriculture. In recent years, the planting industry has developed to a certain extent. The planting industry is mainly walnut and ginger, and the breeding industry is mainly pig and rabbit. In 2015, more than 200000 walnut seedlings were grafted in five villages. township enterprises include silicon companies, basalt, dolomite and sand mining sites. Agricultural production of corn, soybeans, wheat, ginger, potato and so on. Pig, cattle and poultry are the main breeding industries. Gonghe township has ten thousand mu walnut base, commonly known as the "hometown of walnut", and its economic crops include walnut, peanut, sesame, rape, fruit and tung oil tree.
