Ping'an Township
In the early days of the Republic of China, Pingan township was called "Yan Family Shaoguo". Because it was the main traffic road from Tongbin to Zhuhe (now Shangzhi), it was once quite prosperous. Tucheng was built in 1925, with a sharp increase in population and merchants. It became a big town in Yanshou county and was designated as Ping'an town in 1929. After the fall of Northeast China, due to the construction of roads on the North Bank of Mahe River, "Ping'an fort" lost its important position, and the market became increasingly depressed. Ping'an Village was established in 1934 and changed to Ping'an Village in 1938. After the victory of the "93" Anti Japanese war in 1945, the Ping'an district was set up in March 1946. In September 1949, it merged with Liuhe District into the ninth district. In April 1956, Ping'an township was set up instead of sub district township. In January 1958, Panlong township was merged into Ping'an township. In September of the same year, it merged with Yan'an Township and was renamed Ping'an people's commune. In February 1962, eight production brigades in the eastern region were set up and Yan'an commune was established. In January 1984, Ping'an commune was changed into Ping'an township.
