Hedong community is a community under the jurisdiction of Hepu street, Haojiang District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. It is located in the south of Shantou City, the West Bank of Haojiang, and the east side of Hedong Village, with a population of 11888.

Hedong community. There are 147 party members, eight party groups, and 28 staff members of the neighborhood committee, including 6 members of the Party branch, 7 members of the neighborhood committee, and 9 members of the "two committees" after cross appointment. The whole Hedong Village is rectangular from south to north. The south part of the village is connected with Henan community, and the north part is connected with Hebei community. Most of the houses are concrete structure bungalows, and some are shell stucco wood structure bungalows. Hedong community has 1570 mu of arable land, planting rice, sweet potato, sugarcane, peanut and soybean. It has a mountain forest area of 7530 mu, mainly planting litchi, Ganji, etc. There is tieniaokeng reservoir, with a storage capacity of 880000 cubic meters. Mariculture farms mainly breed shrimps and crabs, ponds mainly breed bullfrogs, and poultry farms mainly breed ducks and chickens. The main enterprises include Shantou Yehe Liquefied Gas Co., Ltd., Hongqiling gas station, several stone yards, etc. Residents' income also depends on handicraft industries such as family workshops. There is a cultural activity center in the community and a cultural relic protection spot in Shantou City, which is called "the tomb of Chen Yao, the governor of Chaozhou in Song Dynasty". At present, there is one middle school, one primary school and one kindergarten.
