Daxiaobao town is located in Xiaoyi City, Shanxi Province. In accordance with the spirit of the reply of the people's Government of Shanxi Province on approving Luliang City to adjust the administrative divisions of Shilou county and some towns in Xiaoyi City, Daxiaobao township was established as a town with the approval of Luliang City and Xiaoyi city.

In the first year of Zhenguan reign, Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty was honored by Zheng xingkuo, a villager, for his filial piety. He appointed YONGANLI as daxiaoli, Yongan County as Xiaoyi County, and Daxiaobao was the only village granted by the emperor for filial piety, which brought up the villagers who were tolerant of filial piety. According to the records of Xiaoyi County, the filial sons include Li Tianyu, who was born in Wanli of Ming Dynasty, Zhang Dadeng, who was born in Wanli village of Ming Dynasty, and Li Wu, who was the honorary wife in the first year of Qianlong. Wang Haiyan and Zhang Sanping are the top ten filial piety sages in the new era. Since then, Daxiaobao has been known as a local sage.

Daxiaobao town is an industrial town with many coal based industrial and mining enterprises. Its annual output value can reach 3.5 billion yuan, and its per capita income is at the middle level of the country.
