On December 23, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Chengdu to adjust the administrative divisions of 15 counties (cities, districts) including Longquanyi District (cfzm [2019] No. 24): to cancel Jiangyuan town and set up Jiangyuan street. The administrative area of Jiangyuan street is the administrative area of the former Jiangyuan town, and the Jiangyuan Street office is located at No. 1 Qingwen road.

Jiangyuan street is located in Chongzhou City, Sichuan Province. In 2019, the organizational system of Jiangyuan town will be abolished and Jiangyuan Street will be established. The administrative area of Jiangyuan Street will be the former administrative area of Jiangyuan town. The office of Jiangyuan Street will be located at No.1 Qingwen road.

Jiangyuan town is located 15 kilometers southeast of Chongzhou City, 25 kilometers away from Chengdu City and 18 kilometers away from Shuangliu International Airport. Covering an area of 29 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 8 villages and 2 communities, 168 villager groups and a population of 29536. With the completion and opening of Guanghua Avenue extension and chongshuang freight Avenue, the construction of Chengpu railway and the Second Ring Expressway started, Jiangyuan town has become one of the closest towns in Chongzhou city to Chengdu, and has entered Chengdu's "half-hour economic circle".

Jiangyuan town has a long history. Since the Tang and Song Dynasties, it has been governed by Tanglong, Wulong, Tangan, tangxing, Jiangyuan county. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the county was withdrawn as Jiangyuan township. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the establishment of townships was retained. In 1992, townships were withdrawn to build towns.

In recent years, Jiangyuan town has established the development idea of "three bases and one home" according to the overall planning of building a modern garden city according to the urban and rural development idea of Chengdu. In Jiangan line and Dajiang line areas south of qizhiqu and west of Yangma River in Jiangyuan town, relying on the advantages of vegetable and edible fungi planting, the first base, green vegetable industry base, is planned and constructed; in Yangjiang line and chongshuang freight Avenue areas south of qizhiqu and east of Yangma River in Jiangyuan town, relying on rare seedlings planting, the second base, garden tourism industry base, is planned and constructed In the south of Guanghua Avenue extension and the north of qizhiqu, relying on the radiation of Yangma new town, the third base, educational animation film and television industry base, is planned and constructed.
