Dongping Street

Dongping street belongs to Lishui District of Nanjing City, located in the east of Lishui District, is the birthplace of Ergan River, the source of Qinhuai River. As of 2015, Dongping street has an area of 106 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of five communities and five villages, with a population of 35000.

Dongping street is adjacent to Jurong City. The sub district office is located at 88 Jinhu Road, 8km away from the district government and 18km away from Nanjing Lukou International Airport. Scenic spots include Dongping Lake and Dajinshan.

On July 29, 2020, it will be included in the National Health township (county) naming list of 2017-2019 cycle.

Historical evolution

In August 1956, it was Dongping township.

In September 1958, it was changed into a commune.

In March 1984, the township was changed.

In 1994, the town was established.

In 1996, it covers an area of 71 square kilometers and has a population of 24000. It has jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages and FANGBIAN neighborhood committees, including FANGBIAN, Xihu, Yuding, Bailu, Shangwang, Mashan, Shangqiao, feng'an, Liangshan, XuXi, Shankou, Wangjiashan, Yangxiang and Zhangcun. Its jurisdiction borders Gecun town and Tianwang town of Jurong City in the East and north respectively.

In 1999, it has a total area of 60.9 square kilometers and a total population of 23091, including 940 non-agricultural population. It has jurisdiction over 1 neighborhood committee, 12 administrative villages and 194 villager groups.

From February to March 2000, Qunli township was abolished and merged into Dongping town; in May 2000, seven administrative villages were merged. At the end of 2000, it covers an area of 127.81 square kilometers and has a total population of 48812, including 1635 non-agricultural people. It has jurisdiction over 2 neighborhood committees, 17 administrative villages and 416 villager groups.

In 2003, it has jurisdiction over two communities of FANGBIAN and xiajiabian, and 14 administrative villages of Lu, Lishan, Dinghu, FANGBIAN, XuXi, Jinhu, Qunli, Aijing, Jingshan, Changle, Heping, Aimin, Ailian and Lianmin.

In 2009, the two administrative villages of Lianmin and Aijing in Dongping town were put under the jurisdiction of Zhetang town; after the adjustment, Dongping town covers an area of 122.94 square kilometers, has a population of 42400, and has jurisdiction over two neighborhood committees and 12 administrative villages.

In 2014, some areas of Dongping town (formerly Qunli township) were transferred to Lishui Economic Development Zone for management.

We will speed up the development of new sources of economic growth for farmers and increase their income. Watermelon, vegetables, sugarcane, strawberries, lotus root, corn feed and other economic plants have been developed to more than 12500 mu. Fish and sheep farming has a certain scale. Pheasant, pigeon, blue fox and other special poultry farming has also achieved initial results. Resource development has initially formed four bases, namely XuXi thousand mu seedling and flower base; Liangshan and Dinghu thousand mu Huanghua pear base; shangjiashan Boer sheep breeding base; FANGBIAN and Shankou vegetable planting base. It is mainly planted with "double low rape" and high-quality japonica rice, with a total grain output of 25000 tons. The rich mountain forest resources are mainly developed and planted in 2000 mu of Huanghua pear and 1200 mu of Qingmei. Special aquaculture, mainly including prawns and pearls, has been developed.

By the end of 2018, there are s38 Changhe expressway, G25 Changshen expressway, S340 Changli line, S246 Ninglang line, Changli highway and Nanjing Hangzhou high speed railway in the territory, and Lishui high speed railway station is located in the territory.

There are Lishui No.12 bus, Lishui No.17 bus, Lishui No.1 bus, Lishui No.102 bus, Lishui Tianwang intercity bus and village bus. There are Changhe Expressway Dongping entrance and Changshen Expressway Lishui north entrance.
