Dongfeng Township

Dongfeng Township is under the jurisdiction of Hulin City. It is located in the south of the city, on the West Bank of Muling River. The township government is 7.5km away from the city. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, Dongfeng Township belonged to Qingfeng District of Hulin county. In June 1949, it was transferred to the fourth district. In February 1956, Qingfeng township was set up instead of regionalized township. In September 1958, Qingfeng people's commune was established by merging with Zhongcheng township. Later, it was merged with the farm and divided into two branches. Qinghe Branch was merged with 858 farm, and Dongfeng experimental farm was directly under the county. In February 1962, Dongfeng commune was established. In March 1984, it was changed to Dongfeng Township.

In Dongfeng Township, there are undulating mountains and crisscrossed gullies. Most of the farmers live close to the mountains. It is known as "Dongfeng encircles the mountains". The township covers a total area of 165.5 square kilometers, with 61000 mu of arable land, mainly corn, soybean and wheat. Township run industries include foundry, brick factory, oil press factory, etc. The township has jurisdiction over Fuxing, Lianzhong, Yongfeng, Xinfeng, Qingfeng, Dongfeng and Qinghe villages. At the end of 1992, the total population of the township was 8427, of which Manchu, Mongolian, Korean, Hui and other ethnic minorities accounted for about 4%. The township government is located in Dongfeng Village.
