Dongfeng Township is under the jurisdiction of Mulan county. Located in the middle of the county, the West Bank of baiyangmu river. The township government is 30 kilometers away from the county seat. Originally under the jurisdiction of Lidong commune. In 1972, the northeast of Lidong commune was set up as Dongfeng commune. In the spring of 1984, it was changed to Dongfeng Township. the northeast of Dongfeng Township is a forest area, with county owned Dongfeng forest farm. The total area of the township is 130 square kilometers, with 57000 mu of arable land, mainly corn and soybean. The township has jurisdiction over seven villages, including Liqin, Lishan, Dongshan, Xinsheng, Minsheng, Sihe and Heping. At the end of 1992, the total population of the township was 7193, of which Korean, Hui, Manchu and other ethnic minorities accounted for about 2%. The township government is located in Liqin village.
