Huancheng Township
Huancheng Township, Jurong County, Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, formerly known as Chengdong commune (township), is located around Jurong County, Zhenjiang city. The township government is located in the northeast of dongmenqiao. It is adjacent to Chenwu, Xingxiang, Chuncheng, Ersheng, Sancha, Shishi, Huangmei and Dazhuo. It has jurisdiction over 24 administrative villages and 154 natural villages. The township has a population of 32900, including 56 Hui people and the rest Han people. The total area of the township is 68.4 square kilometers, with 28000 mu of paddy field, 13500 mu of dry land and 1200 mu of woodland. The terrain is high in the southeast and North, and low in the West. The newly opened Jurong river turns from east to south, passes through yangjiaxiang, beiyangmen and santaige in the west, and then goes to Shishi and Sancha to enter the Qinhuai River and connect with the Yangtze River. Nanjing Hangzhou highway, Zhenju highway, Danju highway, Jushu highway, jushun highway and Jushi highway all pass through the rural area.
After liberation, the people of the whole Township vigorously promoted the basic construction of farmland and water conservancy, successively built Xiaozhuang, guoxitang, Xinfang, qianjiabian and other small reservoirs, built fangjiaba, excavated Qiantang River, Jurong River and irrigation and drainage channels, and built 22 power stations. Jurong reservoir, which belongs to the county, is located in the upper reaches of the township and can irrigate by gravity. In 1985, the total grain output of the township reached 15771 tons, and 3807 tons of commercial grain were provided to the state. Residents around the city are good at growing vegetables. In 1984, 4612 mu of vegetables were planted in the whole Township, and in 1985, it expanded to more than 6300 mu. The township raised more than 26000 pigs, providing 1500 tons of fresh pork, 100000 poultry, 400 tons of eggs and 125 tons of aquatic products for the market. In the late 1970s, township run enterprises gradually developed, and now there are fur, plastic, brick and tile, farm tools, silk carpet, clothing and other industrial enterprises in the township. The construction station is the backbone enterprise of the township. The traffic, power supply, post and telecommunications office building, experimental primary school, middle school teaching building, er Zhao restaurant and guest room building, people's shopping mall, bus station and other high-rise building projects in the county are all undertaken by Chengdong, Jili and santaige construction stations, with excellent engineering technology. In 1980, nearly 1000 people went to Beijing to take part in the construction projects of capital airport, Academy of Environmental Sciences and Sino foreign joint ventures, and won the construction quality award of the State Administration of construction and engineering for six consecutive years. In 1985, the total industrial output value of the township was 10.767 million yuan. The annual per capita net income of farmers is 452 yuan. Around the town, embracing the county, education is relatively developed. In 1985, there were 44 primary schools, including 22 primary schools and 4 secondary schools. there are the sixth Geophysical Exploration Brigade and the provincial agricultural school in the province, and the Municipal Agricultural Science Institute and animal products factory in the city. County units have fertilizer plants, oil and rice plants, weather stations, agricultural schools, agricultural companies, seed farms, zhaowenshan martyrs cemetery.
