Tuqiao town

Tuqiao Town, subordinate to Xunyi County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the southern tableland of Xunyi County, 21 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Qingyuan town in the East and North, paixia community in the West and Chunhua County in the south. It is the "South Gate" of Xunyi County, with a total area of 188.97 square kilometers and a total population of 48335 (2017)

Jiantuqiao town in Ming Dynasty is one of the five ancient towns in Xunyi county. In June 1984, Tuqiao township was established when the government and society were separated, and it was renamed Tuqiao town in December. As of March 2020, Tuqiao town has jurisdiction over 27 administrative villages and 45 natural villages. The town people's government is located in Tuqiao village.

In 2016, the total rural economic income of Tuqiao town was 740.42 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 9141 yuan. In 2017, there were 68 enterprises in Tuqiao Town, with 764 employees, including 11 industrial enterprises and 3 large-scale enterprises.

Historical evolution

Jiantuqiao town in Ming Dynasty is one of the five ancient towns in Xunyi county.

In 1950, Tuqiao district was set up.

In March 1956, Tuqiao district was retained when the district was withdrawn and the township was merged.

In September 1958, Tuqiao Township and paixia Township merged to form the Yamei people's commune. In December, Fuyi county was merged into Fuxian county and changed into Tuqiao people's commune.

In June 1984, Tuqiao township was established when the government and society were separated, and it was renamed Tuqiao town in December.

In 2011, paixia township was abolished and rutuqiao town was built.

In 2015, zhangbasi town was abolished and transferred to Tuqiao Town, named Tuqiao town.

Xunyi suona is a kind of folk percussion music. According to the local natural environment and geographical location, it can be divided into three systems: Zhou suona, Lu suona and Beiyuan suona. Tuqiao town is located in the distribution area of Lu suona.
