Aksai Kazak Autonomous County is located at the junction of Gansu, Xinjiang and Qinghai provinces, the westernmost of Hexi Corridor, and Heping township is located in the southwest of the county. It starts from hulustai in the East and ends at Jijigou in the west of Lapeiquan in the West. Nananba, the seat of Heping township government, means "a place with a mother" in Kazakh, 173 kilometers away from the county seat. The total area is 11000 square kilometers, including 4.24 million mu of usable grassland, accounting for 28.6% of the total area, 137000 mu of fenced grassland, 350 mu of agricultural cultivated land, and pastures are divided into four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. In spring, the grassland starts from Yemaquan and simu to the west of Hulusitai in the East; in summer, it starts from the west of shaerhapudali in the East; in daqunhur, sur'ader and qilsayi in the West; in autumn, it starts from the South zhilenghu reservoir in caochang; in winter, it starts from the East of Kushui River and the area of shaersai and taoluhubayi ditch.

The total output value of agriculture and animal husbandry in the township was 2.7 million yuan, the per capita net income of farmers and herdsmen was 5142 yuan, the added value of agriculture and animal husbandry was 1.91 million yuan, the total output value of township enterprises was 49.72 million yuan, and the added value of enterprises was 15.27 million yuan. The net profit of the enterprise is 2.1 million yuan, the total investment in social fixed assets is 4.8 million yuan, and 39 households are engaged in the secondary and tertiary industries.

Infrastructure

The roads in the pastoral area of Heping township have been repaired and are unobstructed throughout the year. The infrastructure of the pastoral area is also constantly improving. 150 supporting sheds, 6 breeding stations, 5 medicated baths, 3 Motor wells, 15 waterlogging pools, 78 km diversion channels and 450 km simple rural roads have been built. The construction of these infrastructures has greatly improved the production and living conditions of herdsmen and made the economy of the township develop rapidly. In 1997, the goal of "well-off township" was achieved.

Heping township is rich in Allium mongolicum, Cynomorium songaricum and Saussurea involucrata. It breeds wild camels, argali sheep, yellow sheep, green sheep, snow chicken and other national rare wild animals. There are abundant mineral resources such as crystal, asbestos, marble, manganese, gold and jade in Heping township. The future prospects are very optimistic.
