Taiping Town

Taiping town is located in the southeast of Guangshui City, Hubei Province, China, known as "stepping on three counties with one foot" (located at the junction of Guangshui City, Anlu City and Xiaochang County). With an area of 76 square kilometers, the town has a total population of 26815 (in 2017), cultivated land of more than 20000 mu, and jurisdiction over 1 community and 15 administrative villages. Yingshan River and Guangshui River, the tributaries of Huanhe River Basin, meet each other, with rich water resources and convenient transportation. The ring expressway of Wuhan city circle (S43 Xiaohong Expressway) passes through the town, and there is an interchange.

Rich in products, especially Jiyang garlic is famous in Jingchu. With the continuous advancement of agricultural modernization, six economic sectors have been formed, namely "Jiyang garlic, meat duck, aquatic products, cotton, rape and vegetables".

history

Taiping town has a long history, outstanding people, the emergence of a large number of revolutionaries. The first party branch of the Communist Party of China in Guangshui was established in Xiaodian, Taiping town. The red site of Xiaodian is still well preserved. After the founding of new China, Taiping was subordinate to Yingshan County, named Taiping town. In 1959, Yangzhai district was set up, Taiping was called Township Office and Taiping commune. In 1987, Taiping commune was withdrawn from the district and established township. It was renamed Taiping Township Government and subordinate to Guangshui city. At that time, there were 3 administrative districts and 22 villagers' committees. In 2002, the administrative districts were abolished and 22 villages were merged into 16 villagers' committees. In 2012, Taiping Village, where the township government was stationed, was declared as Taiping community. On January 22, 2014, the Provincial Department of civil affairs agreed to abolish Taiping Township and establish Taiping Town in Guangshui city.

It has jurisdiction over 16 village committees: Taiping, Hongqi, Xihe, Chaoyang, maozihu, qunlian, qilichong, Gaodian, HongRi, zuojiahe, tanshu, Mingzhai, Zhumiao, xiangshuitang, Donghe and Qunyi.
