Shuangmiao Town, subordinate to Xiajin County, Dezhou City, Shandong Province, is located 9 kilometers west of Xiajin County. National Highway 308 runs through the town, with superior geographical location.
During the Hongwu Period of Ming Dynasty, the ancestors of the Yu and sun families moved here from Zhaoyuan County, Shandong Province to build a shuangmen earth temple, hence the name Shuangmiao. In the Ming Dynasty, Shuangmiao belonged to Xiaobei township; in the Qing Dynasty, it also belonged to Xiaobei township; in the Republic of China, it belonged to the eighth district. After the liberation of Xiajin in September 1945, the county was divided into 10 districts, and Shuangmiao belonged to the seventh district; in April 1950, it was merged into 6 districts, and Shuangmiao belonged to the Fifth District. In 1956, Xiajin district was removed and 18 big townships were rebuilt. Shuangmiao township was set up and the government was stationed in Shuangmiao village. In 1958, Shuangmiao was removed from the township and was subordinate to zhengbaotun people's commune. In May 1965, the county was divided from 8 communes into 20 communes, and Shuangmiao people's commune was added. Shuangmiao village is located in Shuangmiao village and has jurisdiction over 20 production teams. In April 1984, the organization was reformed and Shuangmiao township was set up. The villages under its jurisdiction remained unchanged. In July 2002, Shuangmiao township was set up as a town, with 21 administrative villages under its jurisdiction until 2009. Shuangmiao town is located 9 kilometers west of Xiajin County, adjacent to Xiajin Economic Development Zone in the East, Songlou town and Baimahu town in the south, zhengbaotun town in the west, and Tianzhuang Township and dukouyi Township in the north. Qingnian canal runs through the East and West, national highway 308 runs across the town, Qingyin Expressway in the north and Deshang highway in the East. The total area is 39 square kilometers, and the cultivated area is 37000 mu. It has jurisdiction over 20 administrative villages. In 2018, the town's GDP was 1130 million yuan, the total output value of industry and agriculture was 871 million yuan, the local fiscal revenue was 9.03 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 14165 yuan. By the end of 2018, the total population of the town was 31000, of which the urban population was 4400. In 2018, the birth rate of newborn accounted for 11 ‰ of the population, the mortality rate was 6.7 ‰, and the natural growth rate was 4.3 ‰. The Han nationality accounts for 100% of the total population.
