Xinhua Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Dongshan District, Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the south of Dongshan District, at the junction of low mountains and plains at the southern foot of Xiaoxing'an Mountains, bordering Heli town and Jixiang town of Tangyuan County, Jiamusi City in the East and south, qunze mountain and Yuanbao mountain in the west, Beiyin No.7 mountain and Xing'an District in the west, with a total administrative area of 210 square kilometers.

In 1947, Yongxiang township was set up in the seventh district of Heli. In 1986, the township was transformed into a town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Xinhua Town was 15961. As of October 2019, Xinhua Town has 1 community and 10 administrative villages.

History of construction

In 1947, Yongxiang township was set up in the seventh district of Heli.

In 1958, it belongs to Hegang Dongfeng economic zone.

History and culture

Xinhua Town was formerly known as "Yongxiang township". When it was changed from township to commune in 1960, it was renamed Xinhua because the commune was located in the former site of Xinhua iron and steel plant.
