Gulou West Street

Gulou West Street is located in the southwest of the urban area, reaching Gulou West Road in the north, Gulou South Street in the East and Binhe Road in the west, with a total area of about 5.13 square kilometers. Under the jurisdiction of seven community neighborhood committees, 50 administrative enterprises and institutions, with a total population of 55999 people (2010 Liupu). The office has 28 cadres and staff, 9 civil servants and 1 public service staff after the institutional reform in July 2002. It has four departments including comprehensive office, comprehensive management office, economic development office and community construction office and a community service center. From 1999 to 2002, it was rated as the red flag unit of comprehensive management by the municipal comprehensive management committee for four consecutive years.

Community construction

In May 2002, the original neighborhood committee was reformed from 12 village committees to 5 community committees. The specific situation is as follows: Xiguan village was transformed into Xiguan community neighborhood committee; Zhonglou neighborhood committee and Xidajie neighborhood committee were merged into Zhonglou community neighborhood committee; South District neighborhood committee and North District Neighborhood Committee of Normal University were merged into Xuefu community neighborhood committee; the north part of dyeing lane of Mawei Street neighborhood committee, Fuxing Lane neighborhood committee, dye factory neighborhood committee, Gulou South Village and dyeing Lane neighborhood committee were merged into Gulou Community neighborhood committee; the south part of dyeing Lane neighborhood committee, dairy farm neighborhood committee and Qinshu Road neighborhood committee merged into Cangjie community neighborhood committee. At present, the community neighborhood committees have sound institutions, perfect systems, and implemented personnel. They have strengthened the community service functions, and established and improved a series of service systems, including medical, health, culture, sports, entertainment, etc.

Urban renewal

In 2002, an investment of 250 million yuan was invested in the widening and reconstruction of Wuyi West Road. A total of 130000 square meters were demolished and 28 commercial and residential buildings were built, with a construction area of 110000 square meters.

Market construction

By the end of 2003, Yaofeng market had invested 16 million yuan, developed an area of 60000 square meters and completed a construction area of 25000 square meters. There are 20000 square meters of hardened ground and pavement in the market, including 2 trading halls, 5 trading greenhouses, 428 trading stores and 4L commercial houses. Water, electricity, heating, television monitoring and other related facilities are complete. The information service center has realized computer networking with "China Agricultural Information Network" of the Ministry of agriculture and "Shanxi Agricultural Information Network" of the Department of agriculture of Shanxi Province. In October 2001, it was designated as the "designated wholesale market of agricultural products" by the Department of agriculture of Shanxi Province. In December 2002, it was designated as the "designated market" by the Ministry of agriculture of China. In 2003, it was designated as the "key leading enterprise" of agricultural industrialization by Linfen municipal Party committee and municipal government. There are more than 700 merchants in Yaofeng market, including 370 fixed merchants and 300 stall merchants. More than 1000 people have been resettled. More than 2000 vehicles enter the market every day, with a passenger flow of more than 12000 people. The daily sales volume of the market is 800000-900000 kg, the daily transaction volume is more than 1 million yuan, the annual transaction volume is 330 million kg, the transaction volume is more than 350 million yuan, the annual revenue of the market is more than 2 million yuan, and the annual profit tax is more than 1 million yuan. More than 1000 kinds of agricultural and sideline products, such as vegetables, aquatic products, seasoning, meat, poultry and eggs, are traded in the market. Products from outside the province account for 25-35% of the total trading volume, products from other counties and cities in the province account for 10-15% of the total trading volume, and local products account for 55-65% of the total trading volume. Commodities not only meet the needs of Linfen and surrounding counties and cities, but also radiate Jinzhong, Luliang, Changzhi, Jincheng and other places. It not only enriches people's life, but also drives the development of planting and breeding industry in the whole district and surrounding counties and cities.
