Name and origin
It is named after the Shuanglong Bridge.
Evolution of administrative districts
It was established in July 1953.
In 1956, he was born in Geng's hometown.
In December 1958, the administrative area was separated from Geng's hometown.
In August 1961, it was renamed commune.
In June 1984, it was renamed Township, belonging to Xiaohai management area.
In 1992, Liangshan, Gengjia and Shuanglong townships in Xiaohai District merged to establish Shuanglong township.
In 2013, the people's Government of Guizhou Province issued the reply of the provincial people's Government on Approving the withdrawal of Xiushui Township, Shuanglong Township and Mazha township to establish a town in Weining Autonomous County (QFH [2013] No. 244), which agreed to abolish the establishment of Shuanglong Township in Weining Autonomous County and set up Shuanglong town. After the establishment of the town, the Administrative Region under its jurisdiction will remain unchanged.

Shuanglong town is located in the west of the county seat, 11 kilometers away from the seat of the county government, with an average altitude of about 2250 meters. It is adjacent to Caohai town in the East, Heishitou Town, Mazha town and halahe town in the West and south, and Xiaohai town in the north.

The town governs 8 administrative villages and 63 villager groups, which are divided into Liangshan Party Working Committee (Gaoshan village, Gaopo village, Liangshan village, Shuichao Village) and Shuanglong Party Working Committee (Shuanglong Village, Jianglin village, Dadi village, Hongguang Village) according to the geographical location of the village. There are 33204 people living in 7379 households, including Han, Yi, Hui and Miao, 19056 people living in 4238 households of Han nationality, accounting for 57.39% of the total population, and 14148 people living in minority nationality, accounting for 42.61% of the total population, including 980 people living in 253 households of Yi Nationality, 12943 people living in 3028 households of Hui nationality, and 204 people living in 26 households of Miao nationality.
The total land area of the town is 131.21 square kilometers, including nearly 30000 mu of arable land and 52607 mu of forest land, with a forest coverage rate of 23.7%. Shuanglong town is a typical agricultural town. Farmers' income is mainly from planting and breeding. Grain crops mainly produce corn, potato, buckwheat and beans. Cash crops mainly include flue-cured tobacco, Pinellia ternata and orchid seeds.
