Wenfeng Street

Wenfeng street belongs to Fenyang City, Shanxi Province, and is located in the southeast of Fenyang City. It covers an area of about 22.3 square kilometers and has a total population of about 48700 people (in 2019). Together with taiheqiao street and Xihe street, it forms Fenyang City.

Name source

Due to the ancient building Wenfeng tower, the existing Wenfeng street, hence the name.

Historical evolution

In 1958, Fenyang built Chengguan commune, and in 1984, Chengguan town was established. In 1996, Chengguan town covers an area of 24.7 square kilometers and has a population of 10000. It has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages in southeast, northeast, Beiguan, Xiguan, Dongguan, Nanguan, Ximen, Beimen, fengjiazhuang and hongnanshe.

In March 2001, Chengguan town was abolished and Wenfeng street, taiheqiao street and Xihe Township were established. Wenfeng street was under the jurisdiction of Dongguan village, Nanguan village, Dongnan village, hongnanshe village in Chengguan town and Jianchang village and changninggong village in Yuanyang town.

In August 2011, Fenyang City re divided the urban streets into five streets: yuanyuanfeng street, taiheqiao street and Xihe township. After the adjustment, the new Wenfeng street is under the jurisdiction of Dongguan village and Jianchang village of the original Wenfeng street, Guzhuang village and caoxingzhuang village of the original taiheqiao street, xilujiazhuang village, Fengnan village, wunanshe village of the original Yangcheng town and Wangchun village of the original xiaojiazhuang town; the new Nanxun street is under the jurisdiction of xiaonanguan community, Haihong community, nanxunlou community, Nanguan village and Dongnan village of the original Yuanfeng street Changninggong village, hongnanshe village and Zhaojiazhuang village in Yuanyang are under their jurisdiction.

In 2014, Chongwen community was newly established.

In March 2019, Nanxun street was merged into Wenfeng street.

Fenyang Wenfeng street has 14 communities under its jurisdiction, and the Party Working Committee and office of the street are located in Jianchang community.

Wenfeng street is located in the core area in the southeast of Fenyang City. From the north, it borders taiheqiao street, xiaojiazhuang Town, Yangcheng Township, Lijiazhuang Township and Xihe Street clockwise. It covers an area of about 22.3 square kilometers and has a total population of about 48700 (in 2019).

There are Wenhu scenic spot and Wenfeng tower in the area.
