Xunzhen town is located 30 Li southeast of Hequ County, Shanxi Province. It is across the river from Fugu County, Shaanxi Province. Hanhe highway runs through the whole territory and is one of the towns along the river. The town has a total area of 85.57 square kilometers, 32400 mu of arable land, 28 administrative villages and 8115 permanent residents (2017).

The town is an important trade town in the surrounding provinces and is the key area for the development of industry and agriculture in the county.

Xunzhen town is located in the southeast of Hequ County, across the river from Fugu County, Shaanxi Province. Hanhe highway runs through the whole territory and is one of the towns along the river. The town has a total area of 85.57 square kilometers, 32400 mu of arable land, 28 administrative villages and 8115 permanent residents (2017). According to Hequ County annals, xunzhen was called "dema Shuiguan" in ancient times. It is said that Yuchi Jingde got his horse here, so it was named. In the ninth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, the inspection department was set up here, which was subordinate to baodezhou. Therefore, it is also called patrol village. Later, it was the place of market town, so it was called patrol town for short. Xunzhen has always been the market and trade center of Hequ. People from fugu, Baode and other counties come here to exchange goods and materials on the 3rd and 8th of the lunar calendar. Liberated in 1940, it was the county-level office in Hequ, and moved to Chengguan in 1959. The people's commune was established in 1958. the town is an important trade town in the surrounding provinces and is the key area for the development of industry and agriculture in the county. There are coal, building materials, steel and other industries. Agriculture is dominated by melons, fruits and vegetables, and the crops suitable for planting are cabbage, cabbage, peanut, corn, millet, millet and other minor cereals. Specialties are salt dry brand, bowl holder, Mahua, etc. Among the historical sites, "Sanguan Temple" is the most important.

Agriculture

Patrol town by the mountains and rivers, embrace the Yellow River, East and West is not wide, North and South narrow. The Yellow River flows 26 Li from west to south. Along the river, the bottom of the river accounts for one fourth of the total area of the whole society. The land is relatively flat, with sufficient water and fertilizer, and the income is guaranteed by drought and flood. The annual average rainfall is 380mm and the frost free period is 140 days. the main food crops are sorghum, corn, wheat, millet, beans and yam. Vegetables are mainly in late summer and autumn and winter, with many kinds. Most of the flower and fruit trees along Sichuan are apples, pears and grapes, and most of them are peach, apricot, Haihong, Haitang, Daguo and jujube. Quyu mountain and water control, soil and water conservation is particularly prominent, to northwest Shanxi Loess Plateau, an advanced model, known throughout the country.

Scenic Spots and Historical Sites

Chan Fang temple, also known as Chan Hui Yuan, is located in Donggou on the east side of Xun town. It was built in the Yuan Dynasty. Carved on the cliff, there are Buddha statues inside. There are eight sceneries in the temple: Cuifeng Luohan, Bifeng Guanyin, xixindonggao, Wolong Shixiu, Feiquan hanging wall, Zhusai Lingkong, Guyin Linglong and Taihu Lake Miaoman. It is a scenic spot in the county. Now the temple has been destroyed, only the incomplete stone statues.
