Xintian Township

Located in the suburbs of Linfen City, Shanxi Province, the land area is 39.56 square kilometers. The cultivated land is 2204 hectares, all of which are irrigated land, and the per capita cultivated land is 0.97 mu.

Evolution of organizational system

In the 15th year of Jinggong of Jin Dynasty (585 BC), the capital city was moved to Xintian (i.e. today's urban area) from today's Yicheng County, which was named Xinjiang. It was passed down to the 13th generation and lasted 216 years. Qin Jiangxian home, Hedong county. Jiangyi County in Eastern Han Dynasty belongs to Pingyang County. Wei of the Three Kingdoms belongs to Pingyang County. In the 11th year of Taihe (487) of the Northern Wei Dynasty, Quwo County was changed and moved to the present Quwo County. Since then, all the past dynasties have been under the jurisdiction of Quwo County. In the tenth year of Zhenguan of Tang Dynasty (636), Xintian mansion was set up here and later abolished. In 1375 A.D., a post station was set up here, connecting Pingyang mansion to the north, Youyan to the north, tielingguan to the south, Qin, Yu, Shu and Chu to the south. It is one of the largest post stations in the north. Due to the large number of horses, most of the former important officials of the imperial court waited here for food and lodging and changed horses, so they were called Houma. In 2001, Houma township was renamed Xintian township.

It has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 23 villages: nanxizhuang community, dongchengwang community, Longshang, Qincun, Guocun, guocunbao, Qiaocun, Dongzhuang, Xiaohe, beiguoma, nanguoma, beixizhuang, Xindian, xichengwang, Mazhuang, Niucun, Baidian, songguo, fenshang, xihouma, Beibao, xixingcheng, Changqing, Nanbao and dongxincheng villagers' committees.

There are 9320 households in Xintian Township with 38491 people (2017), including 15960 women. The labor force is 14684. The township government is located in the south of the middle section of Chengwang road.

108 National Highway, Jin Han highway, Chengwang Road, Xintian Road, Houxi railway and Houyue railway pass through Xintian Township from east to west; Wangqiao street, Zijinshan street, Fenglei street, Houzhang road and Guoli line communicate with each other from north to south. Yudi outer ring road is adjacent to Fengcheng Township in the East, Shangma sub district office across Huihe River in the south, Gaocun Township in the West and Zhangcun sub district office in the north, and Huibin street, Ludong street and Luxi street in the inner ring road. The 25 villages (communities) are closely connected with the urban area, and the urban and rural areas crisscross and become one with each other.
