Shuiyuguan town is located in the middle of xiyechuan County, with 33 villages and a total area of 220.1 square kilometers. The town government is located in Shuiyu, 41 kilometers southeast of the county.

Historical evolution

In the Western Han Dynasty, it belonged to Daling County, where tieye was located. In Song Dynasty, Datong Jianxi smelter was set up in the territory, and it was still an important smelting place in Ming Dynasty. In the early Republic of China, it was the residence of the three district governments. During the Anti Japanese War, as the people's Anti Japanese base, the mine war was famous in the Shanxi Suiyuan border region. Jiaodong County three district government once stationed here. After the founding of new China, it was shuiyuguan Township in 1957, shuiyuguan commune in 1961 and shuiyuguan town in 1984.

Iron and coal mines are widely distributed in the East. The forest area dominated by Pinus tabulaeformis forest is 121500 mu. The main crops are wheat, corn, potato and millet. In 1985, the cultivated land was 14471.5 mu, the total grain output was 2403092 kg, and the total income was 6.7186 million yuan. Among them, the town run coal mines and cement plants earned 1.24 million yuan. At the end of the same year, it had 35 tractors, 21 agricultural vehicles and 5 bulldozers, with 3087 horsepower. Among them, the collective owned 12 sets (vehicles). There are 27 schools at all levels and 1 health center. The town cultural center has a cinema and a library. In the territory, there are Xiye iron factory and Qingyan forest farm.
