Star Town

Mingxing Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Taigu District, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, is located at the junction of urban and suburban areas. It was established in 2001 after merging the former Chengguan Township and town. National Highway 108, Taixu line and Tailuo road run through the territory. It is the largest town in Taigu district and the second largest town in Jinzhong City. It is the political, economic and cultural center of the whole district. The town has flat terrain, fertile land, convenient transportation, numerous scientific research institutions and entities, good cultural environment, and harmonious economic and social development.

The town has nine administrative villages and eleven communities, with a total area of 18.07 square kilometers and a cultivated area of 16058 mu. The resident population was 12655 (2017). The nine villages are Tianfeng, Mingxing, Beiguan, Dongguan, chengjiazhuang, Nanhe, Beihe, zhujiabao and Jiabao. Eleven communities are: Tianlida, Chaoyang, Tianfeng, Gulou, Jingu, Confucian temple, Xiyuan, Xingwang, Baita, TaiFang (2), Tianlida (2). Among them, Tianlida (2) and TaiFang (2) are rural communities, and the rest are urban communities.

So far, 5711 low-income insurance households have been implemented in the town, and more than 320000 yuan of low-income insurance fund has been issued. In 2005 and 2006, there were 8 administrative villages and 2 rural communities, and chengjiazhuang, Nanhe and Beihe villages were connected to each other. The main roads in the village have been hardened, purified, beautified, afforested and brightened. A number of large-scale residential areas, such as star and Beiguan, are under construction. A new rural image of production development, affluent life, civilized rural style, clean village appearance and democratic management is being formed. In 2005, the total income of rural economy of the whole town reached 465 million yuan, the total output value of township enterprises exceeded 1 billion yuan, the per capita net income of farmers reached 4480 yuan, and the disposable income of urban residents reached 7450 yuan.
