Chaoyang Town, belonging to Xiangfang District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the southwest of Xiangfang District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. It extends to Liming street in the East, Wanggang town in Nangang District in the west, Pingfang District in the South and Jianshe street in the north. Chaoyang town covers an area of 54 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, Chaoyang town had 17022 registered residence population.

Chaoyang town successively belongs to Zhoujia Town, bungalow District, Xiangfang District, bungalow commune, Binjiang District, suburb and Power District of Shuangcheng county. In 1958, Chaoyang commune was established. In 1983, the commune was transformed into a township, belonging to the power district. In 1999, the township was transformed into a town. In August 2006, it belongs to Xiangfang District. As of October 2019, Chaoyang town has 2 communities and 10 administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 285 industrial enterprises in Chaoyang Town, including 11 Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size and 25 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

Chaoyang town is under the jurisdiction of Zhoujia Town, bungalow District, Xiangfang District, bungalow commune, Binjiang District, suburb and Power District in Shuangcheng county.

In 1958, Chaoyang commune was established.

In 1983, it was changed into Chaoyang Township, under the jurisdiction of the power district.

In 1999, the township was removed and the town was built.

In 2006, the original power area was put under the jurisdiction of Xiangfang District.
