Dongcheng sub district office moved to 255 Huancheng East Road, Shangtang in 2013.

Dongcheng Street is located in the north wing of Wenzhou City, the central city of southern Zhejiang and Northern Fujian, and the southeast of Yongjia County, a thousand year old cultural county. In the latest development plan of the county and city in 2011, it is included in the "one" metropolitan core area of Wenzhou City's "1650 urban and rural overall planning", and also in the "one" core urban area of Yongjia County's "13xy" urban and rural development plan.

The street is adjacent to Yueqing City, the strongest coastal economic city in Wenzhou in the East, Nancheng street in Yongjia County Development Zone in the south, Wuniu street and Sanjiang street in the North Bank of Oujiang River with the widest development potential in the south, Beicheng street in Yongjia city in the west, and Shatou Town, the important tourist center of Nanxijiang River in the north.

Dongcheng District, with a total area of 102 square kilometers, is the largest street in Wenzhou and the second largest in Zhejiang Province. Street area across the Nanxi River, the east of the e Pu River, West Doumen river system, together into the Nanxi River. Dongcheng Street was divided into 39 capitals of Yongning Township, 40 capitals of Yongning Township and 41 capitals of Qingtong Township in Ming and Qing Dynasties; it was divided into shuiduiwan township (later renamed Shangtang township), zhikou township (later renamed Tangli township) and Doumen township (jointly named Nangang Township with gumiao Township in 1949) in Shatou District in the late Republic of China; its jurisdiction was divided into Shangtang Township, lvzhang Township, zhikou Township, Weishi Township, Doumen Township and Quan'an Township in the period of liberation and political construction (renamed Jinzhu Township in 1953) jurisdiction; Weishi township was abolished in 1956, and Jingren of shancang, he'ao and lvzhang township was assigned to zhikou township; when communization was implemented in 1958, the jurisdiction belonged to Shangtang Town, Shangtang people's commune, lvzhang management area, zhikou management area, Shatou people's Commune and Doumen management area; in 1961, it belonged to Shangtang commune, Shatou commune and Doumen commune; in 1984, it belonged to Shangtang town and Shatou people's commune Zhikou Township and Doumen Township in touqu district; after "withdrawing the district and merging the township into a town" in May 1992, it was under the jurisdiction of Shangtang Town, zhikou Township and Doumen township; in May 2011, Dongcheng sub district office was set up in the east of Huancheng West Road and the south of Xianqian road in Shangtang town and in the administrative area of Doumen Township, which means to be in the east of Yongjia County.
