Songcun Township

Songcun Township, Chun'an County, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province is located in the west of the county, bordering Jinfeng and Wangzhai in the East, Qiandao Lake in the south, Tangcun and Weiping in the west, Wangfu and Zuokou in the north.

Regional overview

It covers an area of 85 square kilometers (2017), with 1783 mu of arable land and 117274 mu of mountain forest. The main landform features of the township are "narrow valley shape", with green mountains on both sides and long and wide rivers in the middle. It originates from Anhui Province. Yunyuan River (formerly known as Yunyuan River), one of the four main streams of the county, runs through the whole township; along the Xisong (Village) Wang (Fu) highway, it goes directly to the county ring Lake highway, with convenient transportation . The highest peak in the area, penjiajian, 1217 meters above sea level, is located in the northwest of the township. The township governs 21 administrative villages and 26 natural villages with 5759 people (in 2017). The township government is located in Shili village.

History of construction

In 1936 (the 25th year of the Republic of China), Song village was called Yunyuan township. In July 1950, the people's Government of Songcun township was established under the jurisdiction of Weiping district. On May 4, 1955, the Township People's Committee was established. In April 1956, it merged with Songya Township and was named Songya Township People's Committee. In October 1958, it was changed to Songya people's commune. In April 1960, it merged with Jinfeng, Wangzhai and Zuokou to establish Anfeng people's commune. In August 1961, Anfeng commune was abolished and Songcun people's commune management committee was established under the jurisdiction of Qingxi district. In March 1968, it was renamed the Revolutionary Committee of Songcun people's commune. In March 1981, the title of people's commune management committee was restored, and it was transferred to Tangcun District in May of that year. Songcun commune was transferred from Qingxi district to Weiping District in May 1981. It is located in Songcun village. In 1983, the system of township and village was restored. On March 30, 1984, it was renamed Songcun Township People's government.
