Wangqiao town

Wangqiao Town, subordinate to Dongxiang District, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southeast of Dongxiang District, adjacent to Yangxi Township and Maquan town of Yujiang District, Yingtan City in the East, Liwei town in the southwest and Xiaogang town in the north. With an area of 75 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages, 90 villager groups and 72 natural villages. In late 2018, there were 16 thousand and 800 registered residence population in Wang Qiao town.

Rice is the main food crop in Wangqiao Town, and pig, chicken and duck are the main animal husbandry. By the end of 2018, there were 25 industrial enterprises and 11 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Wangqiao town.

History of construction

In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, the territory belonged to Wangqiao District, the Sixth District; in April 1950, it belonged to Yaowei District, the seventh district; in September 1958, it established Wangqiao commune; in June 1984, it abolished Wangqiao commune and established Wangqiao township; in March 2001, it abolished Wangqiao Township and established Wangqiao town.

Wangqiao town is located in the southeast of Dongxiang District, adjacent to Yangxi Township and Maquan town of Yujiang District of Yingtan City in the East, Liwei town in the southwest and Xiaogang town in the north. It is 15 km long from north to South and 5 km long from east to west, with a total area of 75 square kilometers.
