Confucian Temple Street

Wenmiao street is mostly located in the old urban area with a long history. There are old streets such as Wenmiao lane, Wenjin lane, Houjia lane, Shangguan lane, Wanshou Palace, Diliang Palace Street, Shangma street and many cultural relics such as Wenmiao, huangmiao, Chongshan temple. It is also the birthplace of Shanxi University, Taiyuan nvshi, Jinshan middle school and other famous historical schools. Today, the schools are still very concentrated, known as the cultural area.

Wenmiao sub district office is located at No. 21, Wenmiao lane. Its jurisdiction is located at the junction of urban and rural areas in the northeast of Yingze District. It starts from Fudong street, Wulongkou street and dadongguan Street Office of Xinghualing in the north, and is separated from Qiaodong Street office and Haozhuang town by Yingze street and haojiagou street in the south. North China Radio, film and television cadre management college is adjacent to donghuayuan community in the East and Liuxiang Street office in the West. With a total area of 2.7 square kilometers, the terrain is high in the East and low in the West. It is divided into 14 communities with a total resident population of 80257 (in 2010). It has jurisdiction over 40 streets and alleys, including Wenmiao lane. There are more than 20 units above the county level, including the provincial public security department, the Provincial Bureau of cultural relics, and the Municipal Public Security Bureau, and they are organs and institutions. Since the reform and opening up, the development of economy and various undertakings in the jurisdiction, especially the seafood market with Dong'an road and Wulongkou as the center, has become a wholesale distribution center of seafood and aquatic products radiating the whole province, which has played an important role in promoting the development of the catering industry in the province.
