Wangji Town, located in the southwest of Yongcheng City, Henan Province, is 20 kilometers away from Yongcheng City, south of national highway 311. It governs 17 administrative villages, 162 villager groups, 7891 households, covering an area of 53.8 square kilometers, with a population of 32000 and cultivated land of 53000 mu. The territory is crisscrossed by gullies and rivers, and the Huihe River and Dongsha river run through the whole territory.

Wang Jianxin township was built in April 1956, Central Township was abolished and Wangji township was rebuilt in September 1956. In 1957, it was transferred to Maqiao District Committee. In September 1958, it was rebuilt into Maqiao commune. On April 10, 1975, it was separated from jianwangji commune. In June 1981, it was renamed as dawangji commune. In January 1984, it was rebuilt into dawangji township. In 2017, it was withdrawn to build dawangji town. In 1997, it covers an area of 53.8 square kilometers and has a population of 29000. It governs 17 administrative villages including Wangji, YAYING, yuelou, zhuanglou, Yuzhuang, Shiying, caike, liulaojia, liubakoulou, Caozhuang, Guoqiao, Fanying, Yanzhuang, Ligou, qiaolou, Guozhuang and Renlou.

Economics

Dawangji town is rich in water resources. There are more than 10 rivers, the Huihe river divides dawangji town into North and south, and the Dongsha river has a sluice. There is a 110000 kV Substation in the township. Dawangji town is mainly engaged in agricultural production, with comprehensive development of agriculture, industry and commerce.

Cultural undertakings

On March 18, 2018, a group wedding was held in dawangji Town, Yongcheng City, Henan Province.
