Xinglong Town

Xinglong town is located in the South East of Xiji County, Huluhe River Road District, 35 ° 42 ′ N and 105 ° 48 ′ E.

Xinglong town is adjacent to Jiangtai Township and Shizi Township in the north, Yanghe Township and Zhangcheng Township in Longde County in the East, Liancai town in Longde County in the south, Yuanan Township and Lingzhi Township in Jingning County in Gansu Province in the West. The government is located in Xinglong Village, 45 kilometers away from the county seat, with a total area of 220.07 square kilometers.

Zhongjing highway and Haoxing highway pass through Xiji County with superior geographical location and convenient transportation. They are the major agricultural production town in Xiji County, the commercial and trade circulation center and agricultural and sideline products distribution center in the southeast of Xiji County, as well as the economic circulation window between Xiji and other provinces and counties such as Longde, Jingning, Huining and Zhuanglang.

Historical evolution

Xinglong, formerly known as Gaoyao temple, was named after the Buddhist temple built on the east mountain of the village. During the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, the Hui people migrated to Shaanxi to settle down here. Because most of the villagers were engaged in business activities and wanted to have a prosperous business, they abandoned the old place name and renamed it Xinglong, and set up a market. In September 1949, Xingshan district was set up, which belongs to Longde County and governs Xinglong, Gongyi, Zhangcheng, Yangmao, Yanghe and other townships; in December 1953, with the approval of Gansu Provincial People's government, Xingshan District of Longde County was put under the jurisdiction of Xiji County and changed into Xinglong district (the ninth district), which governs 10 townships of Xinglong, Xindian, Gongyi, Gaocheng, Wanghe, Sihe, Beitai, Zhangcheng, Yangmao and Yanghe, and Jingning County belongs to Danmin district In September 1956, the districts and townships of Xiji County underwent a major adjustment, with Shanmin District abolished, Xinglong and Xindian townships merged into Xinglong Township, Yanghe and Wanghe merged into Yanghe Township, Shanmin and Yangmao merged into Danmin Township, Hedong, Hexi and Gaocheng merged into Tuanjie Township, and Xinglong district was under the jurisdiction of Xinglong district after adjustment Xinglong, Yanghe, Gongyi, Danmin, Zhangcheng, Tuanjie six townships; in March 1958, after Shizi district was removed, Shizi, Guanbao, Beitai three townships under its jurisdiction were assigned to Longde County, and Xinglong commune was set up at the same time; in May 1961, Gongyi commune was set up; in May 1962, Yuqiao commune was set up; from March 1963 to 1969, Xinglong district was set up, with Xinglong, Yuqiao, Gongyi, Shizi, Jiangtai, Malian, Wangmin seven townships under its jurisdiction In December 1983, the commune was changed into a township, and in December 1985, the township was removed to build a town. In 2003, the administrative divisions of townships (towns) were adjusted, and Gongyi and Yuqiao townships were merged into Xinglong town.

Xinglong town has a glorious revolutionary tradition. From August 1935 to October 1935, the Red Army of the long march passed here three times. Chairman Mao, the great leader, stayed in danjiaji at night. Premier Zhou, the beloved, stationed in the former Gongyi township. In danjiaji, Jingning County Committee of the Communist Party of China and Jingning County Soviet government were established. In addition, 10 district level Soviet governments and farmers' organizations and 35 township level Soviet governments were also established. Shan Jia Ji Shan Yi Tang mosque has been listed as Xiji County cultural relics protection unit, district level key cultural relics protection unit and patriotism education base.

Xinglong town is located in the plain of Hulu River Valley. The terrain is high in the East and low in the West. The gully area is in the East and the river valley and channel area is in the West. Haoshui River and Shizi River meet Hulu River in the territory and flow through the town. The altitude is between 1700-2000 meters. It belongs to the middle temperate semi-arid and semi humid transition zone in Southeast China, with good water and heat conditions, small drought frequency and large irrigated area. According to the statistics of the county meteorological department, the annual average temperature of the town is 15 ℃, the extreme minimum temperature is - 27.9 ℃, the average temperature of the coldest month (January) is - 92 ℃, the frozen soil time is more than five months, and the maximum frozen soil depth is 106CM; the extreme maximum temperature is 326 ℃, and the average temperature of the hottest month (July) is 178 ℃. The annual average sunshine hours is 2322.3 hours, the total solar radiation is 122.36 kcal / cm2, the frost free period is 146 days, the average precipitation is 485mm, and it is concentrated in the late summer and early autumn, the average evaporation is 1482.3mm.

It has jurisdiction over 32 administrative villages and 171 villager groups, with a total population of 39201 (2017). The Party committee has one general Party branch and 41 party branches, with 1051 party members, including 795 rural Party members.

1. Agriculture: the total area of cultivated land in the town is 83200 mu, including 21700 mu of irrigated land. The cultivated land per capita is 1.8 mu, and the cultivated land per worker is 3.56 mu. The main crops are wheat, potato, corn, oil, peas, etc. the total grain output is 18600 tons, the per capita grain is 393 kg, and the per capita net income of farmers is 2096 yuan. The total output value of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry in the town is 52.4 million yuan, including 31 million yuan of agricultural output value, accounting for 59% of the total output value; 680000 yuan of forestry output value, accounting for 1.2% of the total output value; 20.72 million yuan of animal husbandry output value, accounting for 39.8% of the total output value. In 2006, the total output of wheat, corn, potato, oil and vegetable was 6200 tons, 2500 tons, 7800 tons, 1700 tons and 400 tons respectively. Relying on these advantageous industries, agriculture related industries such as wheat flour, pressed oil, hemp fiber, vermicelli, vermicelli, starch processing and grain and oil trafficking have gradually formed. Among them, three flour processing, hemp fiber and grain and oil trafficking have initially formed a scale, with an annual processing capacity of 1.56 million tons of "three flour" and 2.4 million tons of grain and oil trafficking.

3. Animal husbandry: there are 20000 large livestock and 17200 sheep in the town, with a total meat output of 8000 tons. Cattle and sheep are the main livestock production, and the production and trafficking industry of beef, mutton and skin has been formed. Danjiaji has become the largest cattle and sheep slaughtering and trading market in Xiji, with 32000 cattle and 20000 sheep slaughtered annually. Beef and mutton are sold to Lanzhou, Yinchuan, Pingliang, etc, 65000 pieces of leather were trafficked and more than 2000 pieces of leather products were processed.

4. Private economy

The town's private economy has developed rapidly, with 1570 private enterprises and 6570 employees. The total output value of private enterprises is 98.6 million yuan. While the private economy is growing steadily, the quality and benefit are increasing at the same time. With agricultural machinery, brick and tile, flax, dairy products, grain and oil processing, halal food, starch processing as the main industry driven backbone enterprises, due to the improvement of production and management technology, the enterprise operation momentum is good, and the construction and building materials industry development momentum is strong, forming a new economic growth point.

5. Agricultural Mechanization: the total power of agricultural machinery is 47696 kW, including 40703 kW diesel power and 6992 kW motor power. There are 2835 agricultural transport vehicles, including 2616 three wheeled transport vehicles.

6. Water conservancy: Xinglong town is located in Hulu river channel, and Hulu River, Shizi River and haoshui river run through the whole town. There are three (1) type reservoirs (chentianyu, mazui and Wanggou) and three (2) type reservoirs (Chuankou, fangou and Baigou). The existing livestock water volume of the reservoir is 9.93 million cubic meters. There are 65 motor wells and 110 large wells in the town, with an effective irrigation area of 18100 mu.
