LENGKOU Township
LENGKOU township is located in the southwest corner of Jiang County, bordering Yuanqu and Wenxi counties by Zhongtiao Mountain in the south, Wushui River in the north and gujiang town in the north, gujiang town and Chencun town in the East and Hengshui town in the West. LENGKOU township is located in the mountainous area, with 280 frost free days and an average annual precipitation of about 800mm. Henglingguan village is the rainstorm center of Yuncheng City, with an average annual precipitation of 800-1200mm. The average annual precipitation along the mountainous area is 600-800mm. The agriculture is mainly planted with wheat, corn and other crops.

Nature has endowed LENGKOU with many unique features. Among them, Fenghuang mountain is located in Yanzhuang village in the township. Surrounded by cypress trees, it is evergreen all the year round. Looking around, the mountains are covered with lush green. Therefore, it has the reputation of "Fenggang reddening" and is one of the top ten scenic spots in the county. At the top of Fenghuang mountain, there is the goddess Temple of Jiang Yuan. At the foot of the mountain, there is the tomb of Jiang Yuan. Three kilometers away from Fenghuang mountain, there is an ancient pagoda tree, which looks like a tiger. According to research, it was planted in the Sui Dynasty. It has a history of 1400 years. It is a key cultural relic under provincial protection.

There are 16 administrative villages in the township, and 14 villages have realized the oil road project.

The township now has 16 administrative villages and 53 natural villages in Songdong, Songxi, Songzhong, dongleng, Xiling, Guobao, Libao, mabao, Qiaobao, Laobao, Zhaizi, dahuyu, Henglingguan, Xiaoyu, Pingdao and Yanzhuang. The permanent population is 4850 (2017).
History and Humanities
In 1949, the township belonged to the second district. In 1953, Songzhuang Township and Yanzhuang Township were set up in the township. In 1956, it belonged to Yanzhuang Township and Hengshui Township respectively. Hengshui commune was established in 1958, LENGKOU commune in 1961 and LENGKOU Township in 1984. The cultural relics and historic sites in LENGKOU Township include the tomb of Jiang Yuan, a county-level cultural relic, which is located on the Bank of nantaoshui in Yanzhuang village.

LENGKOU township has five primary and secondary schools, including one junior high school and four primary schools. There are 87 teaching staff, including 26 in junior high school and 61 in primary school. There are 840 students in primary and secondary schools, including 251 in junior middle schools and 589 in primary schools.
