Guanting town is a township level administrative unit under the jurisdiction of Yuanzhou District, Guyuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It governs five administrative villages, namely Guanting, gaozhuangwan, houchuan, Liudian and dacha. In 2000, there were 18926 people in Xijiao Township, 5271 people in Guanting Township and 14749 people in Dongjiao township. In 2003, Dongjiao Township and Xijiao Township were merged into Qinghe town, and the town government was stationed in the former Dongjiao Township, with jurisdiction over 27 administrative villages including Chengjiao, Heping, Xiguan, Yinhe, Dabao, Changcheng, Mingzhuang, Haibao, Guozhuang, Shili, Zhengmo, qiaowa, Dongjiao, Gaohong, Shawo, Xuezhuang, Dongxia, gaofangping, chengershan, Shuiquan, Miaotai, Shizhuang, Licha, Gonghe, Yangwa, Zhanghong and Donghong . The population of the former Guanting township was greatly reduced, with less than 3000 people living all the year round. In 2011, with the approval of the self governing district government, Qinghe town and Guanting Township were abolished, and the former Qinghe town and Guanting township administrative region were merged A new Guanting town was set up, and the town government was stationed in Shawo village.
