Shimen Township

Shimen township is located in the southeast of Wenxi County, 42 kilometers away from the county seat, and in the hinterland of Zhongtiao Mountain. It is the only pure mountain township in Wenxi County, bordering Jiang County in the East, Yuanqu County in the South and Xia County in the West. Wenxi second class highway passes through Dianshang village, Houjiao village, Shimen village, Yupo village and Yuanqu County.

There are 1040 mountain tops in the territory, mainly including Tangwang mountain, Jizi mountain, Huangshi mountain, Shiyang mountain, Tizi mountain, etc. Among them, Tangwang mountain is the highest peak in Wenxi County, with an altitude of 1572 meters, also known as Jingshan. It is said that it is the place where Tangwang stationed troops. There are 480 gullies and 246 streams. There are mainly five river basins, with Tuling in Dianshang village as the watershed, and Dianshang river flows northward into Shaqu river. Qingshan, Xiping, Baijiatan and Hengyu basins are the source of Haoqing River, flowing southward into Yuanqu and into the Yellow River. The basin of houchuan, Houjiao and Shimen is banjian River, which flows southward into Yuanqu and into Haoqing river. In Liujiazhuang basin, Shiba river flows southward into Yuanqu, while Yupo river flows southward into Yuanqu. Among them, the discharge of Haoqing river is the largest.
