The township is located in the northeast corner of Heshan District, Yiyang City, Hunan Province, on the South Bank of the end of Zijiang River, adjacent to bazishao town in the East, Lanxi town in the South and qianjiazhou Township in the West. It has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages, with a total cultivated land area of 19761 mu. There are many rivers and lakes in the rural area. It is a typical water town in the lake area.

Rural roads crisscross in the township, and Yixiao county-level roads cross eight villages, such as fengshu, Gaoli and Lahu, which is the main traffic artery of the township. The surging water is surrounded by the river slope, Yangjiao, Xieshan and other villages. Hanoi is navigable all the year round, a prosperous scene. Yangjiao township has convenient water and land transportation, complete power facilities, smooth information flow, and the popularization rate of program-controlled telephone reaches 90%.

After the township government moved to simenzha in 1999, the facades along the highway were built one after another. With the careful deployment of the government, a fixed scale market was formed. The four gates have become the political, economic and cultural center of the township.

The establishment of Xiaohekou new village makes Xiaohekou village take on a new look. In the area of Xiaohekou new village, 112 facades have been built, and there are about 70 households in the new village. At the same time, a 700 meter main traffic road in the new village has been hardened, and the Xiaohekou farmers' cultural center has been built.

In 2005, the administrative divisions of some townships in Heshan District were adjusted. Yangjiao Township, qianjiazhou Township and Lanxi town were merged and a new Lanxi town was established. The town people's government was stationed at Riverside Road (the former Lanxi Town People's Government).

The township is rich in land resources, is a famous vegetable, aquatic products, pig breeding base. The Party committee and government of Yangjiao Township take the market as the guidance, give full play to the regional advantages, and vigorously develop the "one village, one product" economy. The ecological agriculture and biogas production of Xiaohekou village have driven the development of one side's economy, and promoted the comprehensive development of the three-dimensional breeding industry of "pig, biogas and fish" -- pig, biogas and rice "-- pig, biogas and vegetable. At the same time, Xiaohekou Science Park has attracted many investors and injected new vitality into the economy of the township. Huaihuadi village is famous for its pig breeding. There are more than 300 households in the village, of which more than 100 households have 100 pigs on hand. The duck breeding in daiqiao, fengshu and other villages has made a lot of professional duck farmers. Yangjiao Township also gave full play to the advantages of water town, based on the word "water", transformed the paddy fields and waterlogged fields which are not conducive to planting crops into intensive fish ponds, which not only solved the heavy burden of low yield fields on the masses, but also increased the economic income.
