Daqing River, a medium-sized River in the middle of Liaodong Peninsula, originates from dongdaling, Jianyi Township, Dashiqiao City, Liaoning Province. Most of the river course is in Gaizhou city. From east to west, it flows into the Bohai Sea in the west sea of Gaizhou through the towns of bangshibao, Gaotun, tuandian, Nuanquan, Dongcheng, Xicheng, Taiyangsheng, Tuanshan and Xihai. The river has a total length of 100.7 km and a drainage area of 1482 square kilometers.

It is mainly distributed in the upper reaches of the river, covering an area of 565 square kilometers, accounting for 45% of the basin area. There are overlapping mountains and steep slopes in this area. The altitude of laojiaoding, the highest peak in the basin, is 1034m, standing on the eastern border. The altitude of other mountains ranges from 200m to 1000m, and the ground slope is 30 ~ 35 degrees. The vegetation in this area is good, and the eastern mountain area is the main source of Daqing River. (2) hilly area. It is mainly distributed in the middle reaches of the river, covering an area of 395 square kilometers, accounting for 26% of the basin area, with an altitude of 100m-200m. The main source of sediment in the Daqinghe River lies in the undulating hills, developed gullies, poor vegetation and serious soil erosion. (3) flat land. It is mainly distributed in the lower reaches of the river, covering an area of 422 square kilometers, accounting for 29% of the basin area. The altitude is below 100m, most of which are below 50m. The terrain is flat and the soil is fertile. It is the main economic crop area. Precipitation: the average annual precipitation of Daqinghe River Basin is 727mm, increasing from west to East, between 678-759mm. The maximum annual precipitation is 1150 mm. The distribution of precipitation is uneven in the year, and most of the annual precipitation is concentrated in July and August, accounting for 54% of the whole year. The precipitation in spring is small, accounting for 12% of the whole year in April and may. The Daqinghe River once recorded Gaizhou's "natural treasures and outstanding people", its "thoroughfare of nine provinces", and its "great agriculture". There is a large reservoir, Shimen Reservoir, in bangshibao upstream. Shimen Reservoir is 61 kilometers away from the mouth of the Daqinghe River. It was built in 1971 with a maximum capacity of 112 million cubic meters. The reservoir is mainly for flood control and irrigation, with comprehensive benefits of water supply, fish culture and power generation. In recent years, it has developed Qinghe River rafting, Qinghe Park and other recreational projects.
