Nanqiao town

Nanqiao town is a town under the jurisdiction of Xunwu County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. It is located in the south of Xunwu County. Nanqiaowei, where the town government is located, is 24 kilometers away from the county seat. Nanqiao town has convenient transportation, with Jinan Guangzhou Expressway (Ruixun section) and national highway 206 passing through. With a total area of 143.52 square kilometers, the town governs 17 administrative villages, 195 villager groups and 29233 permanent residents (in 2017), all of whom are Han nationality and speak Hakka.

Nanqiao township was established in 1949, Nanqiao commune was established in 1958, township was rebuilt in 1984, and town was established in 1988.

geographical environment

The total area is 143.52 square kilometers, including 9697.4 hectares of mountainous area, 72.5% of forest coverage and 1311.9 hectares of arable land. The maximum distance between East and West is 13.5km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 14.5km. Xueshanzhang, the highest peak, is 936 meters above sea level, while huangba village, the lowest, is 197.6 meters above sea level.

Bordering on Guangdong Province, it is adjacent to Bachi Town, renju town and huangshe township of Pingyuan County, Guangdong Province in the East. In the southwest, it is adjacent to liuche town and Chenguang Town, and in the north, it is adjacent to Wenfeng Township and Jitan town. Nanqiaowei, where the town government is located, is 24 km away from Xunwu County, 260 km away from Ganzhou, 580 km away from Nanchang, 422 km away from Guangzhou, 410 km away from Shenzhen, 240 km away from Shantou and 350 km away from Xiamen.

Nanqiao Poetry Club

Nanqiao Poetry Society was founded in 2005. With the attention of the town Party committee and government and the support of the society, it has gone through 13 spring and autumn years. It insists on holding the Guyu poetry meeting every year, and publishes "Nanqiao poetry", a total of 4 wanted poems. On April 20, 2018, the Nanqiao Poetry Society of Nanqiao town held the Guyu poetry meeting.

Welcome story

"Welcome story" is a mass gathering activity which makes historical legends, folktales and cultural landscapes into vivid figures and cruises along the street. In the activity, the selected boys and girls aged about 6-8 played the characters in various stories, fixed them on the wooden frame, carried by young men, toured along the street, telling people beautiful and moving legends. The folk custom of "welcoming stories" has a long history in Xunwu County, which has a strong flavor of Hakka life and has been handed down from generation to generation. Represented by Nanqiao Town, this activity can be found in changju village of Wenfeng Township, Wenkou village and Zhoutian village of Chengjiang Town, Aobei village of Shuiyuan Township, liuche Town, etc. In 2016, "Xunwu Hakka story greeting custom" passed the expert evaluation and was rated as the fourth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage representative projects. The Hakkas in Xunwu, by holding the activity of "welcoming stories", stimulate the spirit of unity, development and progress of Hakka children, and promote social harmony.

Qinglongyan scenic spot is located on the Bank of Xunwu River in Qinglong village, Nanqiao Town, covering an area of 13.6 square kilometers. For example, Xunwu County is 25 kilometers. Here, the rock stands ten feet high, and the grottoes are exquisite, more than 100 in size. Looking down from the cave, there is a monk temple in front of the altar. There are many Buddha statues. One of them is 9.98 meters high, which is magnificent. The beautiful scenery of Qinglongyan is vividly portrayed as "the dark path turns around by the clouds and the Hanxi temple is downcast". Up the river, we can see many natural landscapes, such as "left lion and right elephant", immortal characters such as "Fu Ru Dong Hai", "Shi San Piao Bing", "silk thread hanging Golden Bell". From the west of Qinglongyan, there are "crocodile into the sea", "stone pressure toad", "a line of sky" and other landscapes. In addition, there are some wonderful myths and legends, such as "green dragon fairy trail", "Chumi cave" and "immortal stone". Qinglongyan is one of the "eight sceneries of seeking Wu" for its unique natural style and colorful stone landscape. In recent years, Qinglongyan has opened up a "water viewing line" of more than 10 Li, upstream or downstream. Along the way, you can enjoy dozens of natural landscapes; with the development and utilization of hot springs in the scenic spot, it has formed a scenic tourism area integrating sightseeing, leisure and entertainment. Because of its majestic temple, strange rocks, green mountains and beautiful waters, it is always the best of the eight sceneries of Xunwu. Because it is located at the source of Dongjiang River, it is also known as the first rock at the source of Dongjiang River.
