Xiying Township
Xiying township is located 65 kilometers southeast of Wuning Town, Dongyang City, adjacent to Lingkou township of Pan'an County in the East and Bada Township in the south. It is bounded by Luofeng Township and Shangcun Township in the West and Sandan Township in the north, with a total area of 27.16 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 11 village committees, one tea and one forest farm, 27 natural villages, 864 households and 3543 people.
Evolution of organizational system
The township is named after the residence. In 1956, Lingkou Township and Matang Township were merged and renamed Yunfeng township; in 1957, the three townships were separated and still called Xiying township; in October 1958, pingdingyan, Qianzhuang, wuyanxia and mubaowan of Lianmeng Township were divided into Xiying management area of Yushan commune; in 1961, they were renamed Xiying commune; in 1983, they were named Xiying township.
natural environment
The whole terrain is high in the southeast and low in the northwest, with many mountains and few land. The altitude of the whole township is above 400 meters, and the highest peak, gaopeilin, is 826 meters above sea level. The main stream flows from south to north to Luofeng Township, which is the birthplace of Changle river. The cultivated land is mostly distributed in valleys and beside streams, and the soil is Sandy. Mountains account for 74% of the total area, and cultivated land accounts for 4.9%. The annual temperature is low, sunshine is little, rainfall is abundant, frost free period is about 180 days, suitable for forest and tea production.
Economics
The whole Township develops forestry and grain management simultaneously, covering an area of 30178 mu, including 15964 Mu timber forest and 862 Mu economic forest. Most of them are middle mature forest and young forest, with little cutting. The total yield of cultivated land was 1.92 million Jin in 1980, 1060 Jin per mu, 2.65 times higher than 400 Jin at the beginning of liberation, and 2.22 million Jin in 1982. 433 teas are produced. There are 2857 pigs, 569 cattle and 629 sheep. Township run enterprises have agricultural machinery, clothing factories, etc., with a total output value of 50000 yuan. at the beginning of liberation, a lime plant was set up in Shangchen village. Due to inconvenient transportation, poor ore quality, difficult fuel and unknown reserves, it was shut down in 1980.

Before liberation, there were only seven primary schools with about 130 students. There is a junior high school with 141 students, 14 senior and junior high schools with 517 students and 34 teachers. There were 5 doctors in health centers and 13 doctors in rural areas.
