Guangming Street

Evolution of organizational system

In 1998, with the approval of the State Council, Shunyi County abolished the county system and established Shunyi district.

In July 1998, Shunyi District set up two sub district offices, Shengli Street and Guangming Street, and Renhe District Office, which are divided into the urban area of Shunyi district.

On November 13, 2001, No. 475 of Jingmin zhuanghuan approved the establishment of Shiyuan street in the central area of Shunyi district government, and adjusted the jurisdiction of Shengli Street and Guangming Street. By the end of 2002, Guangming Street had an area of 6.5 square kilometers, a population of 65200, and 18 communities.

In 2007, with the approval of Beijing municipal government, wangquan street was established by merging Shengli Street, Guangming Street and some districts of Renhe district. In 2007, Guangming Street, covering an area of 4.12 square kilometers, has jurisdiction over 11 community neighborhood committees with a permanent resident population of 45756.

By the end of 2013, Guangming Street had an area of 4.12 square kilometers, 15 communities and 72234 permanent residents.
