Changgou Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Sixian County, Suzhou City, Anhui Province, was called changzhigou in ancient times. It is located in the west of Sixian County, where the remains of the ancient Grand Canal are preserved. Provincial highway 303, Xuming Expressway and sixu Expressway pass through the town. It connects with Xuzhou Expressway and national highway 104 in the west, and is 70km away from Xuzhou Guanyin Airport. It is known as "the west gate of Sixian county" and has very convenient transportation. The town governs 10 administrative villages.

In 2017, the administrative area of Changgou town was 128.51 square kilometers, with a permanent population of 50198.

Historical evolution

Changgou district was established in 1949, and suburban commune was established in 1958. In 1992, after withdrawing the district and merging the township, Changgou town was under the jurisdiction of the county.
