Wuluqiati Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Wuqia County, Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the west of Wuqia county. In 1950, it was the second district.

In 1958, wulukqiati commune was rebuilt.

In 1962, the commune was divided into small communes and the new urumqiati commune was established on the basis of three townships.

In 1968, it was renamed Dongfeng commune.

In 1980, the original name of urumqiati commune was restored.

In October 1984, the commune was withdrawn and the township was built.
