Banjiegou town

Banjiegou Town, belonging to Qitai County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast of the county. It is adjacent to Qitai central regiment farm of the Sixth Agricultural Division of BINGTUAN in the East, Turpan city of Turpan area in the south, Biliuhe Township in the west, and Qitai Central regiment farm 110 community of the Sixth Agricultural Division in the north. The area is 1802 square kilometers. In 2018, 21940 people registered residence.

In 1953, it was the third district when it was founded. In 1958, it was named Yuejin commune. In 1978, it was renamed banjiegou commune. In 1984, the township system was restored. In 1994, the township was removed and the town was built. In October 2019, banjiegou town governs 8 administrative villages.

In 2018, banjiegou town has 7 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Banjiegou town is located in the southeast of the county, adjacent to Qitai central regiment farm of the Sixth Agricultural Division of BINGTUAN in the East, Turpan City in Turpan area in the south, Biliuhe Township in the west, and 110 community of Qitai central regiment farm of the Sixth Agricultural Division in the north. The area is 1802 square kilometers.

Banjiegou town belongs to temperate continental arid and semi-arid climate, which is characterized by four distinct seasons, hot summer, cold winter and mild spring and autumn. The annual average temperature is 2 ℃ 3 ℃, the average temperature in January is - 15.8 ℃, and the extreme minimum temperature is - 35.5 ℃; the average temperature in July is 19.6 ℃, and the extreme maximum temperature is 36.8 ℃. The annual average temperature range is 35.4 ℃, the annual average relative humidity is 60%, and the annual average frost free period is 141 days. The annual average precipitation is 276mm and the annual average evaporation is 2141mm.

hydrology

There are two water systems in banjiegou Town, zhonggegen River and Xinhu River, which are seasonal rivers and originate from the north slope of Bogda mountain. The catchment area of zhonggegen river is 160 square kilometers, with a total length of about 60 kilometers, which is the second largest river in Qitai County; the catchment area of Xinhu river is 64 square kilometers, with a total length of 56 kilometers.
