Salchok Village

Salqiaoke Township, belonging to Balikun Kazakh Autonomous County, Hami City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the west of Balikun County, adjacent to haiziyan Township in the East, Tianshan Mountains in the south, xialaoba Township in the West and dahongliuxia Township in the north. The area is 1364 square kilometers. In 2018, 5437 people registered residence.

In 1956, it was divided into the Western Pastoral Area, and in the same year, the eastern pastoral area and the Western Pastoral Area merged to form the salchok district. In 1958, it was changed into sarchok commune. In the cultural revolution, it was renamed Dongfanghong commune. In 1980, the sarjok commune was restored. At the beginning of 1985, the commune was changed into a district. In 1987, the district was withdrawn and the village of salchok was established. As of October 2019, rural salchok governs three administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 3 industrial enterprises and 2 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in sarjok township.

The extreme annual maximum rainfall was 342.5mm (2007), and the extreme annual minimum rainfall was 139.2mm (1985). The precipitation is concentrated from April to October, with the most in July.
