BeiShiDian town is located on both sides of Tailuo highway, 8 kilometers north of Jincheng City, Shanxi Province. It has jurisdiction over 23 administrative villages with a total area of 39.8 square kilometers. The resident population was 94266 (2017). Among them, the non-agricultural population is 406, and the existing cultivated land is 20578 mu, of which the irrigated area is 17000 mu, accounting for more than 80% of the total cultivated land.

On December 7, 2016, BeiShiDian town was listed as the third batch of national new urbanization comprehensive pilot areas.

After the zoning adjustment, BeiShiDian town has a permanent resident population of 94266 (2017), covering an area of 39.8 square kilometers. The people's Government of BeiShiDian town is located in BeiShiDian village. the town is one of the four central basins in Jincheng city. Except for a few hills in the north, most of them are flat, with fertile land and abundant water resources. There are 53 large and small water conservancy projects, including 12 large-scale projects.

Economic overview

BeiShiDian town is the base of Jinmei group, the largest anthracite production group in China. The headquarters of Jinmei group and its affiliated Wangtaipu mine, Fenghuangshan Mine and machine repair plant are all located here. according to its unique geographical location and surrounding environment, since its establishment, the town has focused on building an industrial framework with ecological agricultural park as the center and vegetables, fruit forest, flowers, medicinal materials and seedlings as the main body. By 2003, 466 high standard solar greenhouses have been built, 2900 mu of economic forest and 800 mu of traditional Chinese medicine have been planted. The total grain output reached 5.39 million kg, with an average yield of 317 kg per mu. 24.1 million kg of vegetables and 1.74 million kg of fruits were provided to the market throughout the year. There are also a variety of famous flowers. The total income of rural economy reached 481.57 million yuan, and the per capita income of farmers was 3651 yuan. Coal industry is the main industry. There are 12 coal mines, as well as cement plant, magnesium oxide plant, ethyl maltol plant, gas appliance plant, chemical plant, smelting plant, prefabrication plant, color brick plant, weaving plant, glazed tile plant, mung bean beverage plant, etc., with an annual industrial output value of more than 400 million yuan. In the tertiary industry, there are 4 large-scale markets, 10 commercial and cultural service centers, and more than 100 shops. In 2003, the total business income of the town reached 42.13 million yuan. In terms of culture, education and health, there are 1 junior middle school, 23 village primary schools, 1 town hospital with 50 beds. There are 23 administrative villages with clinics. There are cultural and entertainment facilities in every village. Every village in the town has oil roads and every household has a telephone. the town has 20718 mu of arable land, with a total grain output of 4.99 million kg. With the increasing pace of industrial restructuring, the town has built 500 greenhouses with an annual output of 24.1 million kg of vegetables. There are five large-scale and high-grade modern agricultural parks, including BeiShiDian high-tech agricultural demonstration park, Dongshang village ecological agricultural park, Dazhang village ecological tourism park, dachequ ecological agricultural park and situ nursery and flower park. At present, there are 400 mu of Chinese medicinal materials and 1500 mu of fruit trees, with an annual output of 635 tons of fresh fruit. At present, there are two ten thousand chicken farms and one breeding base in the town, with an annual profit and tax of 300000 yuan.
