Ligang town is located in the middle of Ningxia Plain, 23 kilometers away from Yinchuan City, the capital of Ningxia Autonomous Region, and 13 kilometers away from Helan county. It is adjacent to the Yellow River in the East, Zhangliang and Xuguang villages of Changxin Township in the west, Hongxing and Guanqu villages of Jingui town in the south, and the seed farm of Ningxia Autonomous Region. It is adjacent to Yaofu town and Tongfu township of Pingluo County in the north. It is 11.92 km wide from east to west and 13.6 km long from north to south, with a total area of 162.18 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 15 administrative villages and 169 villager groups. By the end of 2008, there were 8239 households and 31680 people in the town, including 29700 agricultural people, accounting for 91% of the total population, and 13700 Hui people, accounting for 44% of the total population. There are 98951.42 mu of arable land. In 2008, the total social output value of the town reached 422 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers reached 4694.01 yuan.
