Yuegai town

Yuegai Town, subordinate to qumalai County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the northwest of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, the southeast of qumalai County, on the East and North Bank of Tongtian River, adjacent to bagan Township in the East and northeast, facing Zhiduo county with Tongtian River in the southwest, Qiuzhi Township in the northwest, 874km away from Xining city and 248km away from Jiegu town. The area is 2278.53 square kilometers. In 2018, 9780 people registered residence.

In 1958, Dongfeng commune was established. In 1984, it was changed to Dongfeng Township. On October 15, 2001, Dongfeng Township was abolished and a new town was established. As of October 2019, the town has four communities and three administrative villages.

In 2018, there are three comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in jiaogai town.

Historical evolution

In 1958, Dongfeng commune was established.

By the end of 2011, the town had four community residents committees, three village committees, namely geqian, gangdang and Changjiang, and nine herdsmen groups.

As of October 2019, the town has four communities: Zhaxi community, Deler community, Changjiang Road community and huangheyuan community, and three administrative villages: Zhiqu village, geqing village and gangdang village.

Yuegai town is located in the northwest of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Southeast of qumalai County, on the Northeast Bank of Tongtian River, adjacent to bagan Township in the East and northeast, facing Zhiduo county with Tongtian River in the southwest, and Qiuzhi Township in the northwest. It is 874 kilometers away from Xining city and 248 kilometers away from Jiegu Town, the capital of the prefecture. The area is 2278.53 square kilometers.

hydrology

There are many rivers in yuegai town. Buqu originates from jialongcha River, flows near kalonggu mountain, and flows into Tongtian River. Bupuqu originates from buputan of yuegai Town, flows to daibusong, and flows into daiqu. There are dongtequ, gangdangqu, gongzhengqu and other tributaries of Tongtian River.

The woodland in yuegai town is mainly distributed on the hillside of the North Bank of Tongtian River, and the distribution is relatively concentrated. The main types are sparse woodland and shrubbery, both of which are natural forests. The woodland accounts for only 3.93% of the land area of the town.

At the end of 2011, the total population of the town was 4093, including 3837 herdsmen, all of whom were Tibetans except a minority of Han nationality.

In 2011, there were 2.9486 million mu of natural grassland and 720.4 mu of grassland per capita. Animal husbandry is mainly based on raising livestock, with 65728 livestock in stock at the end of the year. The per capita net income of farmers and herdsmen is 3139 yuan.
