Lajia Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Maqin County, Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the northeast of Maqin county. It is connected with Henan Mongolian Autonomous County of Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the East, Maqu County of Gannan Prefecture and Gande County of Guoluo Prefecture in Gansu Province in the south, Dawu Township and Dawu town in the west, Tongde County and Xinghai County of Hainan Prefecture in the north. The administrative area is 2626.20 square kilometers.

History of construction
In 1960, Lajia and Jungong townships were assigned to Maqin county.
In 1962, lac and Jungong communes were established.
In June 1984, the commune was transformed into a township.
In March 2001, Lajia and Jungong townships were merged into Lajia town.
